Find Care & Housing
Yes, i agree with allshesgot. I bedside bathe my Mother as she can no longer stand. It's difficult, but can be done. I took a caregiving class to learn how to safely move my Mother in bed and to reposition her. Also, if you think there's a chance for reversal, try Home Health. They'll send a physical therapist and occupational therapist out that can help strengthen your Mom so she can help in bathing and train you in technique.

Good luck and God Bless.

Give her bed baths, make sure she is repositioned evry 2 hrs or so to help avoid bedsores, if she is bed bound and to weak to go to eat then go ahead with the meals in bed, try finding one of those bed trays thsat helps.

Thank you, for your answers, It is such a blessing to have someone out there to talk to. I can't get any help from her primary dr because I can't get her to go. He just says call an ambulance and that would terrify her.

At least she will shower once a week. My mother-in-law finally took one last night the first in 6 weeks and shes incontinent. She gets mean and hits so I don't fight her. As for meals in bed at least shes eating and not forgetting to . As for a doctor she should have medicare coverage and the are clinics that treat low income people check it out with your local agency on the aging. good luck
