By proceeding, I agree that I understand the following disclosures:
I. How We Work in Washington. Based on your preferences, we provide you with information about one or more of our contracted senior living providers ("Participating Communities") and provide your Senior Living Care Information to Participating Communities. The Participating Communities may contact you directly regarding their services. APFM does not endorse or recommend any provider. It is your sole responsibility to select the appropriate care for yourself or your loved one. We work with both you and the Participating Communities in your search. We do not permit our Advisors to have an ownership interest in Participating Communities.
II. How We Are Paid. We do not charge you any fee – we are paid by the Participating Communities. Some Participating Communities pay us a percentage of the first month's standard rate for the rent and care services you select. We invoice these fees after the senior moves in.
III. When We Tour. APFM tours certain Participating Communities in Washington (typically more in metropolitan areas than in rural areas.) During the 12 month period prior to December 31, 2017, we toured 86.2% of Participating Communities with capacity for 20 or more residents.
IV. No Obligation or Commitment. You have no obligation to use or to continue to use our services. Because you pay no fee to us, you will never need to ask for a refund.
V. Complaints. Please contact our Family Feedback Line at (866) 584-7340 or
[email protected] to report any complaint. Consumers have many avenues to address a dispute with any referral service company, including the right to file a complaint with the Attorney General's office at: Consumer Protection Division, 800 5th Avenue, Ste. 2000, Seattle, 98104 or 800-551-4636.
VI. No Waiver of Your Rights. APFM does not (and may not) require or even ask consumers seeking senior housing or care services in Washington State to sign waivers of liability for losses of personal property or injury or to sign waivers of any rights established under law.I agree that: A.I authorize A Place For Mom ("APFM") to collect certain personal and contact detail information, as well as relevant health care information about me or from me about the senior family member or relative I am assisting ("Senior Living Care Information"). B.APFM may provide information to me electronically. My electronic signature on agreements and documents has the same effect as if I signed them in ink. C.APFM may send all communications to me electronically via e-mail or by access to an APFM web site. D.If I want a paper copy, I can print a copy of the Disclosures or download the Disclosures for my records. E.This E-Sign Acknowledgement and Authorization applies to these Disclosures and all future Disclosures related to APFM's services, unless I revoke my authorization. You may revoke this authorization in writing at any time (except where we have already disclosed information before receiving your revocation.) This authorization will expire after one year. F.You consent to APFM's reaching out to you using a phone system than can auto-dial numbers (we miss rotary phones, too!), but this consent is not required to use our service.
*If I am consenting on behalf of someone else, I have the proper authorization to do so. By clicking Get My Results, you agree to our
Privacy Policy. You also consent to receive calls and texts, which may be autodialed, from us and our customer communities. Your consent is not a condition to using our service. Please visit our

The Tech team is doing some work to allow moderator posts to be pinned to the top of newsfeeds, we'll update when that work (along with other fixes) goes live.
What are your thoughts? Are you interested at all in knowing why someone is being reported?
They are coming back time and time again despite being reported numerous time by members.
There are many here who will report upon the content of a thread as being abusive simply because the responses they receive do not support what they want to be told. These responses are not offensive nor do they contain any inflammatory language or provacative subjects or suggestions.
There should definitely be an option as NeedHelpWithMom suggests where posters may give a brief explanation for why they are reporting.
Moderators do take context into account for reported posts. We do a great deal of reading before deciding to remove something, unless it is a clear cut rule violation like profanity, or outright conflict between members that has no place in public posts.
A text box for reported posts is a great feature idea, and one we will pass along to the tech team. A note from them: Developing new features takes time, and must be prioritized along with the other work happening on AgingCare, especially the work that isn't visible to everyone but helps keep the site running. The tech team is working on a process to allow users to submit this kind of request somewhere other than forum posts, so they do not get buried. Please know that while you submit an idea, it may be a long time before it is built because other improvements have to be made to pave the way. We'll be updating the tech team forum post as work is released so the community knows what work has been done.
The events and disruptions we refer to in the post have to do with members posting publicly about grievances with other members. We have enacted a three strikes policy because this behavior is not in line with our guidelines for the forum.
This post is not in response to any “hack”.
I would like, however, to echo Burnt's post below. We are still seeing some people coming to post nonsense posts over and over --a very very few, but noticeable. Very recently one was posting over and over a few words to do with loss of control of body functions. We had trusted members asking that the admins look into the poster, and we reported the poster. But it seems the poster stayed, and moreover began posting openly to our own messages the little kitten in sunglasses, saying "Hi" with a smiling face. Mine can still be seen on my messages page.
It can seem as tho such a person, unaddressed by our AC admins, is well-placed to draw snarky comments for which we might get a 7-day?
I would love to request, also, if we ARE suspended for seven or fourteen days, or if we are ever banned from AC, that we would get an email from AC telling us so, and informing us as to the reasons.
Thanks admins, for your hard work on behalf of us all.
I do not know what to do with the little blue man at the bottom right of my screen, but I notice it goes where I go.
I will ask my husband, I guess.
Unless you have an antique iPad with abysmal internet speed. Then it launches a blank box. (my honey bought me a new Android phone)
This poster has harshly criticized posts from JoAnn, Lea and InFamilyService. As you know, they are longtime contributors of this forum and have helped many people seeking help as caregivers.
Thank you!
Melerly asking her her needs she can not make a decision without feeling that she is making a bad one, in her mind she scared to touch anything because she does all wrong. she is blind so all legal information i have to review I almost had her to where she could function without a care giver and she can't stay home alone because she will call for help on days for the tiny things. We got so close the a landman got ahold of my mother and her sisters to buy her minerals. I was notified and the sisters decided not to transfers however the landman came over and MOM SIGNED! My aunt's and I tracked him down and he said that he wouldn't send in and will destroy. Well we court houses for years 2 infact and no problems welp they Re transfered even my aunt's. Minerals or hard court don't care if it signed than it's as good as done. What can I do?
Same here. I select permanently hide the widget and then it returns.
Today when I went back to correct one of my posts I noticed it showed as written, not all scrunched together.
Want to thank you for the FIX on that pesky thing where we go back to edit and all our paragraph work was missing, the post entirely scrunched up on itself. I hope it will last! As an 81 year old I often need to go back and repair my work, and I so APPRECIATE this and all else you do for us.
Yes, but sometimes they don’t reply. So posting here is a faster way to reach them. Plus if you don’t post here, others don’t know that you noticed the same problem.
I confirm, AC:
edit button still doesn’t totally work.
I was wrong anyway. It did work well first edit, but second time I did it it was a bit scrunched. Alas, as no one saw what I wrote ANYWAY, guess it doesn' matter, hee hee. To me it's no biggie to fix my paragraphs again.
Anyway, if Techies or Admins tune in I wish them well! And on we go.
MANY OF US FEEL INSULTED EACH AND EVERY TIME WE HAVE TO SEE IT.
WE ARE NOT CHILDREN THAT NEED TO BE WARNED THAT WE WILL BE PUNISHED IF WE BREAK THE RULES.
IT IS INSULTING TO US!!!
HOW WOULD YOU FEEL IF EVERYTIME YOU TURNED ON YOUR COMPUTER TO WORK, YOU GOT A WARNING FROM YOUR BIG BOSS TELLING YOU TO BEHAVE OR ELSE? I BET YOU WOULD FEEL YOU WERE BEING TREATED LIKE A STUPID LITTLE KID.
THAT'S HOW YOU MAKE US, MATURED AND RESPONSIBLE CAREGIVERS FEEL.
STOP IT!!!
THANK YOU
POLARBEAR
P.S. IF YOU DELTE/CENSOR THIS COMMENT, OR SUSPENSE OR CLOSE MY ACCOUNT, I WILL NOT BE SURPRISED. THAT'S HOW LOW OF AN EXPECTATION I HAVE OF AC.
