This forum is a blessing. 😊
Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of the spirit, washed in his blood.
Perfect submission, perfect delight,
Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;
Angels descending bring from above
Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.
Perfect submission, all is at rest,
I in my Savior am happy and blest;
Watching and waiting, looking above,
Filled with his goodness, lost in his love.
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long;
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.
Yard work is almost finished. Beautiful day to be outside.
Took a walk along the rail trail. My mother loved being outside and so did I.
Took a ride in the country stopped at a nice restaurant and had takeout
Mom for the first time in two years picked up her spoon and started feeding herself chocolate pudding. We were all so thrilled and happy my mother is doing so well.
Wonderful stress free day. I feel renewed and refreshed.
Speaking of Election Day. I am thankful for generators. Much of our city is still out of power due to Hurricane Zeta so generators had to be placed in polling booths.
Hubby and I elected to vote by mail a few weeks ago so we are finished with voting.
I can’t imagine how long it will take today at the polls! They say they will be sanitizing between each voter. Surely there will be very long lines.
I sincerely hope that people will show up to vote. We should never throw away our right or privilege to vote.
It wasn’t all that long ago that women weren’t even allowed to vote. We should vote for ourselves and also to honor our ancestors that weren’t allowed to.
Mom is doing well.
Counting my blessings for a restful and peaceful day.
My mother is doing great she on the correct antibiotic now, seen the difference in 24 hours.
Beautiful sunny day will probably take a ride after moms appointment.
Grateful things have settled down and we all can relax a little.
Where did the years go, huh? Doesn’t it seem like time goes faster as we get older?
They say in our 60’s we reflect. Yes, we do! Thinking back on my younger days and feeling a bit melancholy. Maybe that’s the Irish in me! Hahaha
You and your mom are too cute - you're like "two peas in a pod!"
Mom did her exercises.
Mom is in good spirits.
I did a little exercise today with my mom.
That's great - it's good for her to get out and go for a ride with all of you and lifting her spirits!
By the time you read this, it will be tomorrow already so that means it's today - lol! With nooooooooooooo mistakes, right? Right!
That is so sweet - I'm glad everything has settled down after the scare this afternoon.
May you both have a restful and peaceful good nights sleep!
Oh, I'm just so grateful nothing serious ended up happening. Maybe next time you can have the clothes in there with you so you wouldn't have to go get them - that's what I've done. Even if you just set up a chair in there to put the clothes on.
I guess the seatbelt would be a good idea from now on like you said. You're right things can happen in a split second no matter how careful you are!
Thank God she's ok - she's come such a long way in the last several weeks!
Well I am very grateful my mother did not hit her head and do a tumble over her high quality shower chair?? We were showering her and she was cooperative. The bathe went very well. It was quick and we dried her. I went to to get clothes for her and my niece was putting on her socks when I came back my mother was hanging off the side and was about to take a landing over the shower chair on to the ceramic floor and thank God she did not fall. Lesson to be learned for me and niece never leave her alone without two people in my case. No ones fault, it happens no matter how careful one is, niece was concentrating on her feet and I was concentrating on getting her clothes and she could have hit her head and died, she is on blood thinners. We never used the seat belt before but for now on we will. Oh my goodness, it is a wonder I am not on antianxiety meds. Grateful but very stressed and shaking. Things can happen in a blink of an eye. I am so so grateful to our Lord.
I'm so glad to hear you and your mom are having a really good morning. It works wonders when our loved one is extremely cooperative, polite, calm and smiling. You're like me - when my mom is having a good day, I'm having a good day and when she's not, then my day kind of goes downhill from there. My mom wasn't allowing anyone to help her shower or do sponge baths at her previous ALF but now that she's been at her new facility in the memory care unit since April, she was allowing sponge baths under hospice care and a couple of months ago she finally has been letting them give her showers. That's a huge victory for us!
Hope you're able to give mom a shower today - you both have a great day and hugs to you both!
Funny, how I was just thinking about you earlier today as I know you don't get to post very often with your schedule.
Glad you all enjoy singing every morning and night - great way to start and end the day!
Sounds like you are enjoying your fall break - being out in nature between walking and riding your bike as well as playing with your goats.
You're all healthy - that's the main thing.
God is good! Take care -
I am so thankful for fall break. I have had a few days to truly just enjoy being. I have admired the beauty of God's creations. Since we harvested the soy beans, we can now walk and/or drive to the woods in back. I have been walking and riding my bike to and fro. It has been great. I have gotten to just play with my goats. Everyone is healthy. And Jesus Reigns!!
We are a blessed people.
Thank you Lord.
O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.
Psalms 34:3
I love singing - that sounds like a fun, relaxing and lazy day you all had especially staying in pajamas all day!
